On Friday, December 1 this year open to lovers of skiing are the slopes of the Å trbske Pleso ski resort in the High Tatras . There are 3 downhill runs of Interski, Turisticka, Junior and Esicko. Very good conditions prevail there, also for lovers of cross-country skiing. Snow cover is about 50 cm of natural down.
The season also started on Friday in Jasna . On both sides of Chopok are available 6 downhill runs (5a traverse from Lukava - part of the Turisticka downhill route, 2a Majowa Rovna Hola - Priehyba, 2b Majowa Priehyba - Jasna, 13 Biela Put, 34c Panorama Chopok - Predne Dereše and 34b Panorama Predne Derese - Kosodrzewina ). On Saturday, December 2, the ski resort Park Snow Donovaly begins , which is located on the border of the mountain ranges Low Tatras and Great Fatra. As last year, at the beginning of the 2017/2018 season, low prices of skipasses will reign in Donovaly . Up to 24 December 2017 (inclusive) you can drive for 12 euros when you buy a 7-hour (all-day) ski pass. a 4-hour pass is also available for sale at a price of 10 euros. Children under 12 ride for 10 euros (7-hour pass) or 8 euros (4-hour pass).
The grand opening of the winter season in the High Tatras will take place on Friday, December 8 this year. On this day, the Tatra Ice Temple will be opened for the 5th time . This unique ice church is built on Hrebienok (Siodełek) near Stary Smokovec at an altitude of 1285 m above sea level. This year, the authors of the project were inspired by the world-famous Catalan designer Antoni Gaudi and his work - the Roman Catholic basilica Sagrada Familia in Barcelona
